Connecting Google BigQuery
A guide to setting up a Service Account and syncing your data warehouse tables with SpendSignal.
What you'll need
Project ID
The ID of your Google Cloud Project.
Service Account Key
A JSON key file for authentication.
Dataset ID
The target dataset containing your tables.

Create Service Account
- Go to Google Cloud Console > IAM .
- Select your project.
- Click Create Service Account.
- Name it (e.g., "spendsignal-connector").
- Grant the role BigQuery Data Viewer and BigQuery Job User.

Generate JSON Key
After creating the service account, you need to download a key.
- Click on the newly created email address in the list.
- Go to the Keys tab.
- Click Add Key > Create new key.
- Select JSON and click Create.
- A file will automatically download to your computer.
Security Warning
Store this file securely. It provides access to your BigQuery data. You will need to paste the contents of this file into the connection form.

Connect to SpendSignal
Return to the SpendSignal dashboard.
- Project ID: Found on the GCP dashboard home.
- Dataset ID: The name of the dataset (folder) in BigQuery you want to sync.
- Service Account Key: Open the JSON file you downloaded and paste the entire content.
